Prosecco drinkers have the easiest landing in the whole non-alcoholic category. Bubbles hide a multitude of sins: carbonation supplies the texture and lift that alcohol normally provides, which is why sparkling is the strongest-performing style in non-alcoholic wine — and why the industry's own data shows it growing fastest. If your default order is a glass of Prosecco, these are the three bottles that keep the ritual intact.

What survives, what changes

You know the Prosecco profile: pear, white peach, a little floral lift, gentle bubbles, off-dry "extra dry" sweetness. Dealcoholized versions keep the fruit and the fizz nearly intact — what changes is the finish, which lands softer and a touch shorter without alcohol's bite. The failure mode to avoid is the sugar crutch: weaker producers paper over the missing body with sweetness until the result reads as Italian soda. All three picks below stay on the wine side of that line.

The picks

1. Mionetto Alcohol-Removed Sparkling — the familiar name

Italy | Extra-dry style | Off-dry

Mionetto is an actual Prosecco house — the same brand on the shelf at every wine shop — and its alcohol-removed bottling is the closest thing to "your Prosecco, minus the alcohol" that exists at this price. Pear and white-peach fruit, soft mousse, the classic extra-dry touch of sweetness. If you're pouring for Prosecco loyalists at a shower or brunch, the label alone does half the reassurance.

2. Grüvi Dry Secco — the dry one

USA | Brut-leaning | Dry

The pick for people whose complaint about Prosecco is that it's too sweet. Dry Secco leans crisp and green-apple, with a genuinely dry finish that reads more brut than extra dry. It's also the easiest single-serve option of the three for pacing an evening one glass at a time.

3. Noughty Sparkling Chardonnay — the upgrade

Spain | Champagne-leaning | Dry

Technically a Champagne-style move rather than a Prosecco clone — organic Chardonnay, tighter bubbles, more citrus than pear — but it's the bottle we'd hand to the person at the table with the most opinions about wine. The difference between "this is fine" and "wait, this is good" is worth the few extra dollars for a toast that matters. (Champagne vs. Prosecco, explained →)

How we chose

Sparkling is the deepest field in non-alcoholic wine, so cuts matter more than picks: we weigh producer track record, stated sugar levels (the Italian-soda red flag), independent reviewer consensus, and weekly verification against live listings. We haven't yet run our own formal blind panel — when we do, these rankings will be updated and dated. Full methodology on our About page.

FAQ

Is there real non-alcoholic Prosecco? Legally, "Prosecco" requires the Glera grape from its protected Italian region with its alcohol — so nothing dealcoholized can carry the name. What you're buying is Prosecco-style sparkling, in Mionetto's case from a genuine Prosecco house. The style, not the appellation, is what survives.

Which is driest? Grüvi Dry Secco, then Noughty. Mionetto keeps the classic extra-dry sweetness that most Prosecco drinkers actually expect, even the ones who order "brut."

Will it work for a wedding or shower toast? Better than any other non-alcoholic style. Bubbles carry ceremony; nobody scrutinizes a flute mid-toast. Our hosting guide covers mixed tables where some guests drink and some don't.

How many calories versus regular Prosecco? Typically half or less — alcohol is wine's main calorie source. Real numbers per glass are in our non-alcoholic wine calorie guide.
